Press Release - May 13th 2008
In the UK this summer 30% of employees will
pretend to be sick to enjoy a day in the sun - many now using fake sick notes to
explain their absence.
This means it's a boom time for UK based website doctorsnotestore.com - as
London's sees its first week of summer, Gerry Shevlin, managing Director of the
firm which is the only website in the UK offering fake sick notes for sale
online, has reported a 10-fold increase in sales.

Whilst Mr. Shevlin distances himself from the ethics of selling fake sick notes,
that cost UK employers millions every year, the production or sale of fake sick
notes is not illegal in Britain, as long as a real doctors name isn't used; and
as regards their use- it's not illegal- but if an employee is found out, there
may be some disciplinary action. However Shevlin says his company’s products are
so good, that most doctors wouldn't even know the difference.
The phenomenon of employees not turning up on summer days is known as Seasonal
Absence Syndrome (SAS) by Human Resources Departments, and is usually associated
with hot weather and during and after major sporting events, such as this years
Euro 2008 Finals.
Whilst none of Britain’s 3 teams qualified for the Euro 2008 finals, it is still
expected that many UK workers will be pulling a 'sickie' this summer.
If you are one of the 30% of UK employees planning on faking sickness for a day
